Charleston is located at the eastern terminus of Interstate-26. Easy connections can be made with Interstates 20, 85, 40, 77, as well as 95 from the north. The primary north-south route along the coast, U.S. Highway 17, runs directly through Charleston and a connection with I-95 is available from the south.
Commercial jet service is a popular mode of transportation to Charleston with a professional, fully operational airport located about a dozen miles outside of historic downtown Charleston.
